Monthly fees are due on the first day of each month.
Late fees are applied by the second week owing.
We take children ages 4 or 5, depending on desired instrument and child's attention span. Special music and singing programs for children younger than 4 are being planned for the 2020 fall season.
As per standard music academy/school policies, a full month's notice is required in order to cancel lessons during the 10 month program. Please note that after Spring Break, however, no refund is provided.
Absolutely! Studying music improves brain function at every age and brings great joy to the musician. See our Adult Music Lessons page for just some of the exciting benefits for adult music study!
Missed lessons are the sole responsibility of the student. Should the teacher need to cancel, a replacement lesson will be scheduled at teacher and client's combined earliest convenience. Please see our Policies for further details.
Instrument rental programs are available at Wentworth Music and Keystone Music in Kelowna.
Just as in sports and dance, music skills need to be practiced.
As a general rule, depending on age, level of study, and attention span of student, most elementary-level students should schedule 15-30 minutes, five days a week for intentional practice.
Playing favourite pieces, exploring sound, and learning pieces from youtube, etc.. are not included in the intentional practice time but should be welcomed as these activities also nurture student interest.
Instrumental success requires encouragment from parents and grandparents, spouses, family, etc.
Talk with your teacher to ensure affective practice.
Practice advice for families is detailed on our Parent Information page.
